The man who went to Boynton Beach police after his then-lover, Dalia Dippolito, told him she planned to hire someone to kill her husband in 2009, has taken a plea deal on stalking charges. Mohamed Fawzi Shihadeh repeatedly called and sent hundreds of text messages to his ex-wife. And though he pleaded guilty, the adjudication of the charges was withheld, meaning he will not have a felony conviction on his record if he fulfills the terms of his probation. The Dippolito case gained national notoriety after video surfaced of Dippolito entering a staged crime scene and crying as officers said her husband had been killed. Unbeknownst to Dippolito, her husband was still alive, Shihadeh wore a wire and set Dippolito up with an undercover police officer posing as a hitman. Dippolito is serving a 16-year sentence for solicitation to commit first-degree murder.
