Seasonal king tides this week were marked by three record-breaking high water days that experts say were boosted by sea level rise. While gusts off the ocean caused a bigger bloat to the annual king tides, experts said rising oceans are the underlying reason for the increasingly flooded roads, salt poisoned grass, and changes in daily routines that must be timed with tidal cycles. High tides Sunday, Monday and Tuesday were record high in data that goes back to 1994. A Monday high tide was 14 inches higher than the average high tide for Oct. 19. Weather expert Brian McNoldy said sea level rise is making it easier to break high-water records.
