A former Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy convicted of fatally shooting his estranged son-in-law is free on bail while he appeals his conviction. A jury found Carlton Nebb-er-GALL guilty of manslaughter this year in the February 2018 death of Jacob Lodge outside Nebb-er-GALL's home in The Acreage. Nebb-er-GALL said he feared for his life when Lodge came to his home. Nebb-er-GALL's daughter said Lodge had come by to deliver clothing for their sons. NEbb-er-GALL has been in jail since the time of the shooting.
