Palm Beach Gardens has appointed a new mayor. City Council member Rachelle Litt will hold the office for one year following a vote of the council Thursday night. The position is primarily ceremonial and usually rotates among the council members. Litt is a pharmacist who first was elected to office in 2017. She was re-elected this spring without opposition and served as the city’s vice mayor last year. Filling the vice mayor role in the new year will be council member Chelsea Reed.
