Wellington cake-maker Beth Townsend is already a Food Network champion, having been on the winning team in the 2015 version of the TV show “Cake Wars: Christmas.” Now, will compete on “Halloween Wars,” one of several scare-related baking competitions that the Food Network is premiering. The ninth season of “Halloween Wars” begins Sunday, and although Townsend can’t yet confirm how far she goes, she can say that she has a great time. The “totally self-taught” baker began her artistic career as a painter, creating murals and accents on Palm Beach homes. Townsend can't please everyone, though. Of her kids, she says, “They’re all sick of cake! I don’t even make them for them anymore.”
