Florida Atlantic University and the city of Boynton Beach have formed a partnership with the aim of producing homegrown entrepreneurs and businesses. FAU founded Tech Runway, founded by FAU in 2014 to provide mentoring, networking, investor access and other programs designed to assist startup companies. It has signed a lease for a 1,850-square-foot space inside City Hall to develop a business incubator. Since its inception, Tech Runway has helped launch 117 companies that have generated $278 million in revenue and created 642 jobs, according to FAU. The commission voted 4-0 to approve the lease.
