An Acreage man facing the death penalty in the starvation death of his 13-month-old daughter pleaded guilty to a lesser charge Wednesday. Alejandro Aleman will spend at least 15 years in prison for his role in the death of Tayla Aleman in April 2016. An emergency room doctor called it the worst starvation death he’d seen. Tayla was 2 pounds under her birth weight and suffering from E. coli, influenza, pneumonia, and other ailments. Aleman’s wife, Kristin Meyer, pleaded guilty to the same offense last year.
