Over the last 16 years, Sharon Bock has lead the office that maintains legal records and keeps a watchful eye on Palm Beach County’s government spending. But she will not be seeking a fifth term in November. Approaching the three-year mark of her marriage, Bock said it was time to take a step back to succeed in her personal life. Bock began working at the office in 1998. As former clerk Dorothy Wilken announced in late 2003 that her three-term tenure would end, she named Bock, then chief deputy clerk, as her successor. And like her former boss did for her, Bock is passing the torch onto Shannon Chessman, the chief operating officer of the Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller’s Office.
