Mike speaks with broadcaster and 2GB contributor Jason Morrison about clashes between police and protesters during demonstrations against Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s visit to Australia.
NSW Police say officers showed “remarkable restraint” after limiting protest movements and confronting demonstrators. Organisers failed in a court bid to overturn those restrictions.
The government invited Herzog following an antisemitic attack at Bondi Beach, saying the visit would help the Jewish community heal, despite opposition from pro-Palestinian groups.
Footage from the protest showed physical confrontations between police and protesters. Protest organisers say the violence could have been avoided if they had been allowed to march freely.
