Dr Mac Shine, Robinson Fellow at the Brain & Mind Center at the University of Sydney, joins Luke Grant to talk about a new study published yesterday in the NEURON – about how researchers are working to map the brain to see what parts of the brain are involved when we concentrate - and what happens when we do complex tasks.

In this instance they used a brain imaging technique on participants who completed a Sudoku like puzzle finding that there were different patterns of brain activity – the trickier the task, the more the patterns changed.
