With the NSW state election now less than a month away, a lot has been said about the election being fought not in the city, but in the country where a lot of tough battles loom for the Coalition.

Some commentators have speculated that the March poll could see a repeat of what happened to Jeff Kennett in Victoria back in 1999 when the regions swung away & cost the Coalition their majority.

One man determined to make sure political lightning doesn’t strike twice, particularly north of the Murray is Deputy Premier of New South Wales & the Minister for Regional Development John Barilaro who launched the National Party’s campaign in Queanbeyan last week promising among many things a big focus on water infrastructure.

Barilaro joins Michael to talk about the 270 kilometre pipeline linking Wentworth on the Murray River to Broken Hill which promises the Silver City will never run short of drinking water in the future.
