With one in six people in Australia aged 65 and older and with that number increasing in the coming decades, the care of older adults, both at home and in residential aged care, is a growing area of interest and occupation for osteopaths in Australia.

As aged Australians overwhelm an already strained general practice and public health support system, there is likely to be an increasing demand for allied health practitioners to ensure adequate standards are achieved for this increasing cohort.

This podcast brings together a special collaboration of minds on the roles, suitability and future of osteopaths in the care of older people and the opportunity for ongoing growth and potential expansion of scope of practice in this domain.

Join Dr Jack Feehan, Vice Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellow RMIT University, Dr Amy Lawton (Osteopath) lecturer and Ph.D. candidate, Dr Danielle Baxter (Osteopath) Ph.D. lecturer and Dr Leo Di Giorgio (Osteopath) as they give their valued insights into this burgeoning health sector.
