Adam Jones, Meghan Ottolini (Mego), and producer/brand personality Christian Arcand host ‘Jones and Mego’ weekdays from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. on WEEI. Jones joined WEEI in January of 2023 from 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston, where he hosted the station’s night show since 2013 and co-hosted “The Dan Shaughnessy Show” from 2009-10. Ottolini joined WEEI as a part-time host in 2021 before becoming a full-time addition to afternoon drive in 2022. She previously spent five years as a reporter with the Boston Herald and as a co-host of ‘Quick Slants’ on NBC Sports Boston. Arcand, born and raised in Boston’s North End, is in his second stint at WEEI, rejoining the station in November of 2022 after a five-year run with The Sports Hub.

Is Jerod Mayo ready to be an NFL Head Coach?

Dr. Cutler received his MD from McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He
subsequently received his MPH from the Harvard school of Public Health. He completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal, followed by a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at DFCI. In 2002, he joined DFCI, where he currently is a member of the Hematologic Malignancies staff.

Dr. Cutler is a Director of the Adult Cell Transplantation Program, Director of Clinical
Research for Stem Cell Transplantation and Director of the Stem Cell Transplantation
Survivorship Program. He also works as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Eva had unexplained fevers for about a week. She was pale and sleeping a lot. Her
parents took her to the pediatrician, who advised them to take Eva immediately to the
emergency room. Her bloodwork revealed she had acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).

After two years of treatment including chemotherapy, she was finally in remission,
but cancer returned just two weeks later. Eva needed a stem cell transplant and her twin brother, Joey, was a perfect match for the procedure.

She received a stem cell transplant from Joey in 2022. She also has received CAR-T
cell therapy, a type of immunotherapy. She received her cells in May and continues to be seen twice weekly to track her progress with therapy and platelet infusions.

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia is aggressive and progresses quickly. It affects the
lymphoid-cell-producing stem cells, in particular a type of white blood cell called T
lymphocytes as opposed to acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) which commonly affects B lymphocytes. ALL is the most common type of childhood cancer. It most often occurs in children ages 3 to 5 and affects slightly more boys than girls.

“It was nothing to worry about,” Andrew was repeatedly told, when he visited
urgent care twice for pain in his pelvis area. But the discomfort wouldn’t go away, so he met with his primary care physician who referred him to a urologist for an ultrasound. The scans led to a testicular cancer diagnosis in early 2023. It was caught early enough, and he was told there was a good prognosis. The cancer had only spread very lightly to his lymph nodes.

Adam works as the director of data analytics for a pharmaceutical company. He
loves vacationing with his family, watching his children play their sports (soccer for his son Jacob and gymnastics for his daughter Julia) and caring for his 2004 BMW. He hopes to help normalize conversations around testicular cancer for other men so they can overcome stigmas and shame around it. Today, he and his wife Kara are
celebrating their wedding anniversary.

Dr. Atish Choudhury is a medical oncologist and clinical/translational investigator
within the Lank Center for Genitourinary Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and currently serves as Chair of the Gelb Center for Translational Research. He also serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. His research interests include investigation of genetic and epigenetic biomarkers from circulating free DNA from patients with metastatic cancer, biomarker studies from other banked human specimens from patients participating in clinical trials, and clinical investigation in novel therapeutics for genitourinary malignancies.

According to the American Cancer Society, testicular cancer is not common. About 1 of every 250 males will develop testicular cancer at some point during their lifetime. The American Cancer Society’s estimate for testicular cancer in the United States for 2024 is about 9,760 new cases of testicular cancer diagnosed. The average age of males when first diagnosed with testicular cancer is about 33. This is largely a disease of young and middle-aged men, but about 6% of cases occur in children and teens, and about 8% occur in men older than 55.
