Adam Jones, Meghan Ottolini (Mego), and producer/brand personality Christian Arcand host ‘Jones and Mego’ weekdays from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. on WEEI. Jones joined WEEI in January of 2023 from 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston, where he hosted the station’s night show since 2013 and co-hosted “The Dan Shaughnessy Show” from 2009-10. Ottolini joined WEEI as a part-time host in 2021 before becoming a full-time addition to afternoon drive in 2022. She previously spent five years as a reporter with the Boston Herald and as a co-host of ‘Quick Slants’ on NBC Sports Boston. Arcand, born and raised in Boston’s North End, is in his second stint at WEEI, rejoining the station in November of 2022 after a five-year run with The Sports Hub.

Did they get the Finals MVP right?

All of us felt like this season was going to be a wash. Think of this as a Netflix special. This team is a far cry from where they used to be. Then the story begins, having fun and winning games, and Alex Cora is leading the train. This is awesome drama. They will be buyers, they will make the post season. Netflix plays a huge role in the decisions that the team is making this season. Ownership does not want to look like real A-holes!

Travis's theory as to why this Sox season has been so dramatic

The fans do NOT share the optimism that Travis, Mego, and Arcand have. 
Mego: it is important to say what it means to be a big buyer.
Travis: will the continue to make moves like this Paxton one? If it is smaller non-sexy moves with a good personality, it can help the team go on a run. I am willing to mortgage the future a little bit for Eovaldi or someone like that to make a reunion. 
Arcand: Their top three prospects are all in the top thirty in the MLB. 
Mego: there is still plenty of other prospects that you can trade. I get saying the top three are not touchable. Other than that, I do not care. Look at the returns for Arozarena and Puck.

How confident are you that Craig Breslow and the Red Sox will be big buyers at the deadline? Arcand asks in the Big Q @2:00. Mego, Travis, and Arcand himself are very determined that the Red Sox are going to spend big at the deadline. This recent Paxton move could be the tip of the iceberg!
Arcand: I am confident too. They gave up nothing for Paxton. He does not suck. Writing him off off as garbage is dumb. 
Mego: Is this any risk?
Arcand: NO!
Mego: You are bringing him in because he was out there. Time for more!
