During the height of the pandemic in 2020 we sent the One Guitar to his home in NSW.

"I was pretty excited to see it... I still have that teenage joy in trying out a new guitar," Bernard said.

It's a Gibson J45 Vintage Sunburst, a model nicknamed "The Workhorse".

First released in 1942 it has a storied history with many famous artists relying on its mahogany construction along with renowned "full, balanced expression, warm bass and excellent projection".

They each had four weeks with the guitar to write a new song after which they perform it and discuss the creative process.

The guitar then hit the road en route to the next songwriter.

Each episode is a fresh exploration of a new creation using the same instrument.
