Brian Baumgartner from 'The Office' talks appearing on new series 'Suits: LA' and more!

Real fun with Mario Lopez. Sobriel, Mario Lopez joined me right now on Zoom from the office actor my buddy Brian Bombgarner.

What's going on, Brian? What's up, Mario? How's it going?

It's going well, man to nice to see you. Congrats. I know you joined the cast of Suits La in a guest star role the other night. We're you were playing a fictional version of yourself, right.

It was definitely a fictional version of my heightened But that's what's so amazing is I can play myself and then anything that people don't like that I say in it, I'm like, well that was just that was my fictional version, not actually me.

I like it. I'll La curve your enthusiasm. That's fun. And you were working alongside Patton Oswalt on the show. Was that the first time you all worked together.

It was the first time we'd worked together.

Yeah, you know, we were like la acquaintances, like the hello there.

Kind of a deal. But we had a great time.

I mean from right off the bat our first rehearsal on s I was like, this is going to be an amazing day. He's so funny, he's so willing to go anywhere.

We improped great together and I really enjoyed it.

Might we be seeing more of you on the show?

I think, Well, Look, I am a client now of the law firm and suits LA, and I think there's a very reasonable chance that I might return.

For some more lawyer, more lawyer advice.

Okay, nice, nice. I also know the creators of the Office are working on a new show called The Paper, which is coming to Peacock, and they just announced Oscars joined the cast. Might we see you back as Kevin Malone?

Look if Greg Daniels finds a way for Kevin to leave his bar there in Scranton, Pennsylvania and show up at at not a paper company, but an actual paper, I'd be gaming any chance I have to play around with Greg.

He's a genius. I would be happy to do it.

Speaking of which, twentieth anniversary of the show premiere is on March twenty fourth. I can't believe twenty years already. What do you remember about the audition process for that?

Oh? Man?

I mean, it's first off, I can't remember. I can't believe that it's been that long. Also, I auditioned for Stanley. That's that's what I auditioned for Stanley. I knew there was another role they were looking at called Kevin, and thankfully we got together during the audition process and they decided to take a look at me for Kevin. But here's an amazing thing, Mario, I don't know if you've heard this. The other two people in the end that were up for the role of Kevin Malone Eric stone Street from Modern Family and Jorge Garcia from Lost and many other things. So it ended up working out for all of us. I think, Wow, that to me is really cool.

That is very cool.

That's wy. I like those kind of stories. Like I was just talking Eric McCormick the other day and it was I think down to him and I think he said matt LeBlanc on Friends, but then obviously worked out for him a few years later with Will and Grace. So I was like, look at that. Sometimes you know, it just meant to.

Be right there. National Chili Day was the other day.

Did you make anything from your book?

I made some chili. I sure did a little chicken white bean chili. There you go. It was. It was I mean, I have to celebrate, right, It's like my Christmas.

So I did do that, and I'm heading this weekend actually with Bush's Beans, who I don't know, if you know they make the best chili beans. Okay, I'm going to the SEC Championship Game or SEC Championship Basketball tournament, which should be amazing. I'm really excited about being there this weekend in Nashville to have a good time and watch some great basketball.

Good for you, man, We'll have a good time out there, and listen, everyone be sure to catch Brian and suits La, which is streaming now on Peacock and Hulu.

Thanks for checking in, man, right now on Peacock. I'll see you soon. Mario, all right, buddy, you will right
