The Kid LAROI went with his heart. After life events sparked a new wave of songwriting, the Aussie, 22, started his latest album from scratch and used tracks written from the heart -- and heartbreak -- instead. While chatting with Ryan Seacrest in-studio, the "BEFORE I FORGET" artist shared the album is indeed his most "personal" project yet.
"I was going through a lot of life stuff and I was making a bunch of music around that time and I was listening to that music and I was like this music is so much better than my album and I was like, damn, this feels more natural for me," LAROI explained, adding that aside from one track, "everything else was scrapped."
The artist shared he recorded the album over the course of 3 months.
"It came so naturally that I didn't really have to try to do anything and I think that's why I decided to scrap the album. ... It was flowing out of me," he added. "That's why music is so cool man ... for me that's the easiest way. I suck at talking out loud about stuff. ... Music is one of those things lyrically you can say what you want to say and sonically you can create a feeling and that's the most powerful thing."
