A businessman who once served on the Oklahoma City School Board is facing accusations in Florida that he stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from owners and renters of vacation homes there. Stephen E. Shafer, 49, also faces accusations he failed to turn over $100,000 in sales tax to the state of Florida. He was arrested March 13 in Oklahoma City on racketeering, organized fraud and tax accusations. He was booked Saturday into the Walton County jail in Florida and released Sunday on bail.
