In lighter news, it is still illegal for Oklahoma women to go topless in public, Attorney General Mike Hunter said Monday. Oklahoma’s public decency and public nudity laws are still in effect, as are city and county rules limiting nudity, despite a federal court ruling that struck down a Colorado city's ban on women going topless in public, Hunter said. The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in February struck down a ban on women appearing topless in public imposed by the city of Fort Collins, Colorado. The federal court ruled the ban was unconstitutional because it violated the equal protection clause of the U.S. Constitution by targeting a group based on gender.
