- VA-35 Special Election: GOP Candidate Filing Deadline Is This Saturday. In early January, a special election will be held to fill the newly-vacant 35th District seat for Virginia’s House of Delegates. The election was triggered by the resignation of longtime Delegate Mark Keam (D-35). The Democrats have already chosen their nominee: Holly Seibold, who defeated Fairfax County School Board Member Karl Frisch in an upset. The filing deadline for GOP candidates is THIS SATURDAY AT NOON -- Fairfax GOP Chairman Steve Knotts (who also serves as 35th District GOP Chairman) on the program to discuss the importance of this race.
