A local woman has been left badly shaken following an alleged incident out walking in a park in Sligo Town at the weekend.

On Saturday afternoon, a car allegedly followed the woman in Cleveragh Park and sped up towards her.

The woman then ran to safety and the car took off.

It's understood Gardai have been notified of the alleged incident.

Mayor of the Sligo Borough and People Before Profit Cllr Gino O'Boyle is appealing for information and says it's a very unusual thing to happen in the area:
