Uisce Éireann rule out for now a hose-pipe ban

 

 

Uisce Éireann doesn't foresee a hose-pipe ban despite the warm weather currently being experienced in the North West and throughout the country.

 

Prolonged spells of warm weather had often resulted in water shortages being reported in many parts of Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal where it’s thought that infrastructure is not up to standard.

 

Usice Éireann is appealing to the public to make more of an effort to conserve water in the coming days.

 

They're advising people to check for leaks and dripping taps, avoid running the tap and choose a shower over a bath.

 

Margaret Attridge, Operations Manager at Uisce Éireann says treatment plants come under more pressure during warm weather.
