A new term time local link serving Tubbercurry has been described as a first step towards a full service for the south Sligo area. 

Yesterday the NTA confirmed a local link morning and evening service will begin on Monday next with all commuters along with students able to use it. 

It follows a lengthy campaign by various local groups.

Cathaoirleach of the Ballymote Tubbercurry MD and Fianna Fail Cllr Barry Gallagher says its positive, but the area badly needs an extended timetable, catering to more townlands:
