Sligo University Hospital has seen a near ten-fold increase in revenue gained from parking tickets in the last two years.

The HSE earned 62 thousand euro from parking at the hospital in 2023, which rose to 556 thousand euro in 2025.

Letterkenny University Hospital saw a 300% increase in the last four years, with the HSE earning 400 thousand euro through parking at the hospital in 2025 compared to 97 thousand euro in 2021.

Nationally, there has been a 140% increase in revenue gained from hospital parking since 2021.

David Cullinane, Sinn Fein's spokesperson on health, says it can't be justified:
