Sligo County Council is to receive four mobile generators to combat the aftermath of future storms. 

The generators will be used in emergency hubs in the county, which will provide various facilities for people who may be without power. 

The location of the hubs are still being finalised and Council staff are to be trained on the use of the equipment.

Some residents in Sligo were without electricity for three weeks following Storm Eowyn. 

Fianna Fail Cllr Liam Brennan hopes the plans will mean Sligo will be better prepared going forward:
