The developers behind the Mill Apartment complex in Ballisodare have been accused of taking Sligo County Council for a ride.

 

The notorious eyesore has been lying idle for 20 years and is said to be falling into a serious state of disrepair.

 

Several reports have been allegedly carried out by the owners but progress on getting a resolution is said to be painstakingly slow.

 

The complex comprises of 72 apartments and proposal has been put forward by the local authority that it may acquire nearly half of these for social housing purposes.

 

Sinn Fein Cllr Thomas Healy claims it’s being dragged out and that a timeframe needs to be put in place once and for all:
