Concern has been raised over the system for accessing patient medical records at Sligo University Hospital.

 

Records are currently stored off site and are retrieved when needed however it's not always feasible to obtain them out of hours.

 

There's no delivery whatsoever at the weekends while evening times are also said to be challenging.

 

Fianna Fail Cllr Edel McSharry and member of the regional health forum says while moves are underway to move to an electronic system, the current service is not up to standard:
