There are renewed calls for people to keep off the dunes in Strandhill. 

Despite warning signs in place, there are reports of people ignoring that signage over the weekend, particularly in the Shelly Valley area. 

Coastal erosion is severely impacting parts of Strandhill and there are major ongoing efforts locally to protect the dunes. 

Fine Gael Cllr Fergal Nealon says it not about spoiling anyone's fun, but it's crucial the dunes remain there for generations to come:
