The Education Minister is facing further calls for her Department to purchase the former primary care centre in Cliffoney as it officially hits the market. 

The facility is situated right beside the local primary school, which is suffering from parking issues and general safety concerns for pupils and staff, given its proximity to the main N15 road. 

There have been several representations made to the Government to buy the site to create more parking and a safer set down area for the school. 

The property is now for sale and is due to go to auction at the end of the month. 

Leas-Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council and Fine Gael Cllr Thomas Walsh says it presents the ideal opportunity for the Department to do the right thing:
