The North West is not being left behind as it relates to investment in mental health services. 

That's according to local Junior Minister Marian Harkin, who has moved to clarify details on a significant funding announcement for specialist crisis nursing teams at 10 hospitals across the country. 

Sligo and Letterkenny Hospitals were not included in yesterday's announcement which sparked concern at a local level. 

But Minister Harkin says the Government has already invested heavily in mental health services in this region with further plans in the pipeline:
