There doesn't seem to any plans to establish a dog unit in Donegal. 

This is despite it being thought locally that such a unit was to be rolled out in the County. 

The issue was raised at the latest sitting of the Donegal Local Community Safety Partnership.

The meeting was told that drug units in the likes of Donegal Town are very active but plans for a dog unit are not currently on the table. 

But Independent Cllr Michael McClafferty thought otherwise and is now disappointed:
