There are no plans to develop an Injury Unit in Sligo, health officials have confirmed.


A minors streaming service continues seven days a week from 8am to 9pm at the Emergency Department in Sligo University Hospital, with deferred care available during busy periods.


A new Injury Unit is planned for Ballina and will be open to patients from Sligo.


Speaking to Ocean FM News, Member of the Regional Health Board and Sligo County Councillor Marie Casserly said that with no Minor Injuries Clinic currently in Sligo, there are concerns about whether the planned facility in Ballina will be sufficient to meet demand:
