Both Leitrim and Donegal have fare more Airbnb properties available than residential accommodation, new research has shown. 

662 Airbnbs are advertised in County Donegal, compared with 27 homes to rent long-termwhile Leitrim has 87 short-term properties and seven residential homes.

Threshold says nationally, there are four times more Airbnb lets than long-term rentals available this month. 

Its National Advocacy Manager, Anne-Marie O'Reilly says it's an alarming ratio:
