There's been a mixed reaction to calls for drop off facilities for household hazardous waste in Sligo. 

Sligo County Council is being asked to consider the regular provision of such facilities for the likes of paint tins, medicines and pesticide containers. 

There's a warning that such an initiative needs to be well thought out as it could be abused by some people. 

It's thought by Fine Gael Cllr Fergal Nealon that the move would be beneficial to the local community on a number of levels:
