A Leitrim TD is expressing disappointment with the decision taken by the Department of Health not to allocate funding for the provision MS community worker for Sligo and Leitrim;

 

Such a Worker was previously sought to cater for the Sligo/Leitrim/South Donegal/West Cavan area.

 

The Department of Health claim that there is no specific funding allocation within the HSE Disability Services' budget to support the establishment of the post.

 

Deputy Kenny says it's another example of the North West Regions being the poor relation when it comes to health services in Ireland.
