A Leitrim Councillor has reiterated his calls for a better planning system to be implemented by Uisce Eireann.

 

The calls from Cllr Padraig Fallon come as the controversial hosepipe ban has been extended to the counties of Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.  It will come into force on Friday as pressure on the country's water supplies continues to grow.

 

The Water Conservation Order has been extended to every county until August 26th.

The ban covers activities including watering gardens with a hose, washing private cars, and filling paddling pools and ornamental ponds.
