A Sligo based Independent Ireland Councillor has this morning poured cold water on an additional support being talked about for the Argi sector.

The Coalition is believed to be finalising plans to extend the fuel income support scheme for farmers and agricultural contractors by up to five months with a further multi-million euro package for fodder and fertiliser also in the offering.

Ahead of a meeting taking place later this evening in the Sligo Park Hotel to discuss the cost of living crisis Cllr Michael Clarke says previous support schemes targeting farmers and Argi contractors have faltered to deceive.
