The Dáil has cancelled Wednesday's sitting because of the strike by public sector workers.

It was thought there may have been a derogation for staff working in the Oireachtas.

Leinster House workers an integral part of the operations of the Dáil and Seanad as public sector employees, they are also party to the ongoing industrial action which is set to intensify on Wednesday with a full strike.

Opposition politicians have confirmed that they would not cross those lines.

Sligo Leitrim Sinn Fein Deputy Sinn Fein Martin Kenny says the government lack of action with Public sector staff is the reason that struggling public sector workers are taking industrial action.

Deputy Kenny has also been reacting to the latest developments in Northern Ireland where the Drumcree parade dispute returns to the High Court in Belfast today, as the Orange Order challenges a ban on marching along Portadown's Garvaghy Road.

No-confidence motions against Northern Ireland’s First Minister Michelle O’Neill and three other Stormont ministers are set to be debated later.

The Leitrim based TD says such actions are attempts to intimate the Nationalist Community in Northern Ireland.
