A Leitrim farming official has said that rising fuel costs could put the squeeze on farmers in the North West.

From the 1st of September, petrol is due to rise by 9 cent a litre and diesel by 10, as excise duty and the NORA levy are restored.

Already, prices are on average 19 cent a litre higher for diesel and 9 cent a litre higher for petrol since the start of July.
