A Leitrim Cllr believes the Irish Government needs to intervene on the Garvaghy Road controversy. 

Local Sinn Fein Cllr Padraig Fallon has been speaking against a backdrop of heightened tensions over the contentious Orange Order march in Portadown.

Protestors are continuing to try and stop members marching down the mainly nationalist Garvaghy Road for the first time in nearly 30 years.

Cllr Fallon joined residents of the Garvaghy Road in their demonstration this week and hopes for the resolution but engagement is now crucial:
