Rent prices are continuing to rise across the northwest according to report published today by Daft.ie 

 

In Sligo, the average rent of a three-bedroom house was €1607 in the first quarter of 2026, 12.8% higher from a year ago.

 

In Leitrim, the average rent was €1307, up 8.3% from the same time last year.

 

Meanwhile in Donegal, the average rent of a three-bedroom house was €1339 an increase of 6% from a year ago.

 

Nationally, Market rents rose sharply, with the national average increasing by 4.4% between December and March.

 

This is the largest quarterly increase in rents in a series extending back to 2002.

 

Speaking to Ocean fM, author of the Daft.ie Reports, Ronan Lyons says pressure will continue for renters in the North West.
