It's thought that youth diversion projects in the North West are performing well in their objective to reduce juvenile crime locally.

Youth diversion projects are run by the Gardai and Foroige, and aim to stop young people from reoffending.

The Minister of State at the Department of Justice, Catherine Ardagh visited the North West yesterday and today, visiting various projects in Letterkenny and Sligo.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, the Fianna Fail TD said the initiatives were steering youths away from crime:
