The Government is coming under increasing pressure to hold tickets.ie to account over this week's local festival controversy.

The Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival and the Cowboys and Heroes festival are collectively owed hundreds of thousands of euro after the company behind the ticket site announced it was going into liquidation. 

The issue was raised in the Dail last night by Sligo Leitrim Sinn Fein TD Martin Kenny says it's clear there's an issue on how such agencies are regulated. 

He's calling for an examination and for compensation for the festivals in question:
