A Sligo Senator has accused the Government of still failing to grasp the depth of public anger over the fuel and cost of living crisis. 

Rolling protests in Sligo were stood down yesterday, after a week of disruption in and around the town. 

Hundreds of people Sligo people also took to the streets for peaceful foot protests over the weekend. 

Speaking in the Seanad, Labour Senator Nessa Cosgrove hit out at rural independents in particular:
