The Government is being accused of turning a blind eye to a crisis in GP services in the North West.

It comes as new HSE figures show thousands of people across the country are struggling to get a GP.

The data shows the number of GPs in the country doesn't match the growing needs of the population, with the number of new GP's increasing by less than 200 between 2020 and 2025, compared with a population growth of over 480 thousand.

But North Leitrim Sinn Fein Cllr Padraig Fallon says access to GP care has been a long-running issue and the Government were acutely aware of it:
