A Sligo Leitrim TD has accused the Government of dithering too long on implementing financial supports over rising fuel prices.

It comes as the Government is said to be giving consideration to helping householders who are finding it hard to meet increased costs.

Home heating oil has spiralled by nearly 70 per cent in the past week since the war in Iran broke out.

Sinn Fein Deputy Martin Kenny believes the Government should have acted on this sooner:
