There are renewed calls for Glencolmcille fire station to be upgraded. 

It follows a gorse fire in the locality in recent days, with firefighters working for several hours to get the blaze under control. 

Local Fine Gael Cllr Michael Boyle happened upon the scene and says the incident shows the importance of having a local fire station in Glencolmcille. 

He is calling for the project to be prioritised once and for all:
