Further work is to be carried out to combat potential future flooding events in Killybegs. 

It follows flooding in the area in recent weeks while several properties on Bridge Street were also severely impacted some years ago. 

Flood mitigation works had been promised during a previous Ministerial visit. 

Some trees have been removed from the river while other minor works have also been carried out. 

But Fine Gael Cllr Michael Boyle is warning that a lot more work than that is urgently needed:
