Elderly people in the North West have been left behind in cost of living supports, the Dail has heard. 

The Government is facing repeated calls to introduce a mini budget as householders in the region continue to grapple with rising energy bills. 

It’s thought €400 targeted energy credits immediately to bridge the gap to the next budget.

Sinn Fein Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny has reiterated that the measures introduced to date do not help the most vulnerable in society:
