A North West TD is expressing concern with the impact that upcoming strike action by SIPTU members will have on local Hospitals in the North West.

Workers at Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals will be part of the 11-thousand SIPTU members across 30 hospitals that will engage in a full-day stoppage in a major escalation of their public service pay dispute.

SIPTU says the action will take place on Wednesday the 14th of October, following a work-to-rule on September 30th.

Sinn Fein Deputy Padraig MacLochlainn says the lack of action of by the government in engaging with SIPTU is coming home to roost:
